Low-cost Home Redecorating Ideas
House redecorating is not something that requires a huge fortune inside order to do. Neither is it something that must be accomplished all at one time. The ideal manner to decorate a house is one step at a time, one room at a time. This makes the process much less demanding, further fun, and imminently more affordable. Various great ideas are to begin undersized then work your means up.
Paint is 1 of the least expensive stuff you could do to a room that will include the most instantaneous and profound effect on the whole look and feel of the area within question. By picking the paint colors and painting the walls before anything else is done everything else could be done inside order to match the colors you contain placed on the walls. Added importantly, paint is something that the regular person is capable of doing on their own relatively than being forced to employ professionals in order to take it done. Any house development job that you could do yourself will save more cash than you could imagine along the method.
Once you have been able varying your walls, you might fancy to modify your window treatments. Roman shades are an high-quality alternative as they are pretty simple to brew (which would leave you simply the price of the fabric and supplies) but they are not the only choice. I would suggest several sort of curtains as a type of window treatment as they are much additional own than the normal mini blinds found inside therefore many homes today. Curtains or Roman shades could be obtained to match the colors on your walls and should not be a terribly high-priced investment.
Floor covering has in the past repeatedly been out of reach of those seeking to casually improve the look of a area. New technology and equipment have made new floor covering a valid choice even for those who are on really limited house designing budgets. Laminates are a good quality choice designed for those who love the look of hardwood but can't afford the expenditure of resources and/or labor designed for these floors inside their homes. Laminates can repeatedly be installed by even those with partial expertise and prepare a exceptionally noticeable change inside the look and feel of a room. Peel and stick tile is a different option designed for those whose budgets won’t accommodate laminate floor covering. Check out the options and the costs at your local home upgrading store. You just may be amazed at what you could afford.
Somewhat than acquiring new pieces of furniture to make an impressive impact on the look of your living area, try furnishings covers. These can often be obtained within shades that might match your new décor and are much less expensive than new furnishings leaving money used for the undersized touches that matter therefore much within the whole look of the area. As well, when acquaintances and folks walk in and perceive the changes they may be shocked and surprised. They may even be convinced that you do in fact include new furniture.
Mirrors are first-class tools to use when redecorating a home. Additional importantly, they are relatively low-priced used for the the majority component. Mirrors too lend the appearance of a much added wide-open space than having no mirrors would accomplish. If you include a fire place, purposefully located mirrors can spread the warmness and coziness (if not the heat) of a fire throughout the area making the area as a whole seem enjoy a much more fun place to escape the winter "blahs".
Artwork, candles, vases, and floral arrangements could be purchased one piece at a time within order to give the area a further polished look. One time you have decorated 1 area within your house with these budget tips inside mind you can move on to other rooms in your home and incorporate the same ideals as you go. Remember that decorating your house does not include to cost a fortune but it might need a number of patience and planning on your part. With this inside mind, there must be nothing to stop you from heading out today and getting to work on your new house designing plans.

QUESTION:
Why are there now many different brands of bagless vacuum cleaners?
I thought Dyson had a patent on bagless vacuum cleaners but now everybody is copying him. Is it because the patent has now expired and so people can copy it? (as he once sued hoover for copying him but that was a long time ago, around 10 years ago)Thankyou for your help

ANSWER:
Are you talking about a broom? I don't think those can be patented.

QUESTION:
Cheap bagless vacuum cleaners?
What are some cheap brands of vacuum cleaner that are bagless? Does anyone have one that isn't a dyson, is cheaper and works well enough that they can recommend? Thanks!-
ANSWER:
There's no such thing as a good cheap bagless vacuum. However, the cheap vacuums that need bags are not bad. My friend had a dirt devil that did a good job. The reason why Dyson is so good is because the dirt is spun out of the air before it gets to the filter, which helps keep the suction at a high level. The cheap bagless uses the filter itself to clean the air, which decreases in suction as the filter gets filled up. I used to have a different bagless vac (before I got my Dyson) and I hated it because the suction was gone midway through cleaning my house.

QUESTION:
I have a question about bagless vacuum cleaners....?
Hi. I can't find the papers on my bagless vacuum cleaner and was wondering if it is okay to spray the carpet cleaner on and then vacuum with a "bagless" vacuum cleaner. I can't really imagine what it would hurt since the only real difference I can see is that all of the dirt is going to a container instead of a bag. Thanks everyone...I haven't had this all that long and didn't want to do something that would damage my vacuum, so if you have a bagless vacuum and have done this or if you know something about them....please respond. I really appreciate it.-
ANSWER:
I've done the same thing and also own a bagless vacuum without having any problems. I let it sit on the carpet for a short time before running it, but so far no issues!

You now get five years free parts replacements quarentee. I have had a new part for mine and havent paid anything not even postage.

QUESTION:
Do bagless vacuum cleaners need their filters changing?
I have a cylinder vacuum that is bagless 1300k it is completely useless and i was just wondering if the filters on them need changing? or if i should just buy a higher powered vacuum-
ANSWER:
Yes you need to clean the filters. The unit will loose about 60% of its power in about ten to fifteen minutes. I do not recommend the use of upright vacs. They only clean the top of your carpet. The problem is what is deep down. The Dyson, when you bring the handle back, look at the roller brush. It lifts up a bit, does not get deep into the carpet. Kirby, it is just an expensive Hoover. BTW There is no such thing as a lifetime filter.

QUESTION:
Can you use the "spray and vacuum" type rug cleaners with a bagless vacuum?
All of the "vaccum up" rug cleaners say to "use with a fresh bag in the vacuum" Does that mean they are not appropriate for use with bagless vacuums ? Have any of you out there tried it ? I'd hate to ruin my bagless vac, esp. since it's a pricey Dyson.-
ANSWER:
I would Not use the bagless vacuum, I'm thinking the particles from the spray my get lodged in the intricate parts of your vacuum and do something to it. If the particles are trapped in a bag no damage is done. I'm just guessing.Good luck.

QUESTION:
Is bag or bagless better for upright vacuum cleaners?
I need to purchase a new vacuum cleaner in the 5 - 5 price range. Does a bagless have as much sucking power? Do I have to replace filters on bagless vacs? Thanks-
ANSWER:
If you have pets a bagged vacuum will most likely be able to contain the odors within. Both can have equal suction power but with the price range you gave us I'm sure you should go bagged if you want good suction.Cyclonic are nice to have because of its easy clean-up, and you are also not using money on replacement bags. The only down side is that sometimes the bags are discontinued and hard to find.

QUESTION:
Why is there nothing in the Bible about bagless vacuum cleaners?

ANSWER:
Bagless vacuum cleaners, particularly the Hoover Whirlwind models, ARE mentioned in Scripture.When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more;
but the righteous stand firm forever.
(Proverbs 10:25)The voice of your thunder was in the whirlwind.
The lightnings lit up the world.
The earth trembled and shook.
(Psalms 77:18)You will winnow them,
and the wind will carry them away,
and the whirlwind will scatter them.
(Isaiah 41:16)For they sow the dust,
and they will reap the whirlwind.
it does yield, strangers will swallow it up.

QUESTION:
Vacuum bags or bagless vacuum cleaners?-
ANSWER:
I wanted a cloth bagged vaccuum but they just dont seem to make them, we have a rather dusty old house and I can fill a bag in no time and dont want to be buying endless paper bags. I bought a new vaccuum with the disposable paperbags BUT I also bought this attachment that goes on the hose like a jug and all the dirt, well 98%, goes in this jug that you can just pop off and empty when its holding enough, amazing how much goes in there and now instead of filling a bag within a week I empty the jug after every room, sometimes more, and I have a bag now that lasts about 5 months. SO my answer is like a mixture of the two. OH yes I was also told that the bagless types dont have the suction of the bagged ones, whether this is true, I dont know but I am WAY SO happy with my set up!!!!!

QUESTION:
How long do Bagless Vacuum cleaner filters last?
Hello, I'm thinking of purchasing Dirt Devil Vision vacuum cleaner that has a HEPA filter. I realize those filters are very expensive....how long do they last? (in terms of years, and in terms of how many times you emptied the cup approx).I'm new to vacuum cleaners, open to suggestions! Thanks! (100-200 price range)
-
ANSWER:
Personally, I'd stay away from Dirt Devil, Eureka both. I've never had good luck with either. If you're up to spend the 0 range, try a Bissell Healthy Home vacuum. It's got the HEPA filtration. The big difference is it has a similar cyclonic air path to the Dyson (9 little cyclones) in there to spin the dirt out of the air stream and into the collection cup. This means less dirt goes to the filters and your filters last longer. And the unit has a sponge filter that is washable before the expensive HEPA filter. Keep that clean and your HEPA filter will last a lot longer. Because I keep that filter clean, I've not had to replace the HEPA filter yet although I have taken it out and cleaned it with another sweeper one time. And I've had the sweeper just about a year. But in my house, a sweeper sees a LOT of use!
We empty the cup after every use. And every so often, I take the entire dirt collection unit outside and tear it apart and brush all the loose dirt/dust out of it. The stuff that sticks to the sides and so forth. Leaving dirt in the sweeper usually results in stinky sweeper and no one likes that! We try to sweep every other day minimum because of the pets. And during shedding season, it's likely to be every day!
I'm very happy with the Bissell Healthy Home. We have a lot of pets (3 dogs and 4 cats) and it deals with the pet hair great. Does a good job on hard floors and carpet both. The only issue is that the suction is so strong that throw rugs are an issue! It tries to eat them for lunch! But it comes with a little Turbo hand tool that you use on upholstery and we just use that on the throw rugs.
If you watch, you can get this unit on sale in the 0 range, normal price is about 0. Lifetime belt and 5 year warranty. I've gotten good life out of my Bissells. My oldest one is about 8 years old. It still works great but the catch that holds the unit in the upright position broke and the unit kept falling over and it was driving my husband nuts. So I bought the new one and the old one has been assigned duty as the dust collector in his wood refinishing shop. And the hose on the unit is soft and long enough I can park the base at the bottom of the steps and clean the entire staircase without any issues.

QUESTION:
Greatest air watt suction, in a bagless vacuum cleaner?,?
I found Philips do a bagless 375 air watt suction vacuum cleaner, does anyone know of any other brands which do a higher air watt suction bagless vacuum cleaner?not intersted in bagged vacuum cleaners, there a waste of money. Thanks
and not dyson, they max out at a misely 250 or so air watt suction.
-
ANSWER:
Watts is not a rating of suction. Watts tells you how much energy is consumed running the motor. IT May actually be telling you how much power you are wasting.Cubic feet per minute (cfm) will tell you the air flow, Water lift will give you an idea of motor torque.
As for bag-less or bags, virtually every commercial cleaning in the USA uses bags. The long term cost of use for bags is lower. They don't have the filter replacement costs and the vacuums last longer. These are guys who count every penny and they won't buy a bag-less
If you want a great vacuum that will last forever, buy a commercial back pack vacuum with a 150 cfm motor. Something like the Advance 6xp or the Pro-Team Super Caoch Twenty years from now you will give it to you kids. You will probably spend a year on bags and filters.

QUESTION:
Is the Dyson Cyclone vacuum cleaner worth the money?
I've owned a number of upright bagless vacuum cleaners, and they have all sucked (well, they've actually all stopped sucking to be precise). The Dyson claims to never lose its power, but its also 5x more expensive than the average upright. Is it worth it?-
ANSWER:
We used to own an Oreck and it was good, but the bags were expensive and it is really, really dirty to change them. When the Oreck finally went kaput we went to the local Oreck store and saw our model is now 9, yes that's right. Oh yeah, you get a bunch of free crap you don't want or need and you a get a 30 day trial but no way is it worth it.Bought the Hoover that was in Consumer Reports, it did OK but it was really noisy, so bad it hurt my ears. It did a fair job cleaning but spewed dust after about 6 months and was always a hassle to clean.
So I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and they recommended the Dyson. This is the best vacuum in the history of the world. It cleans incredibly well, it is quiet and it doesn't spew dust when I clean out the canister.
I will never buy any other vacuum, but based on my two years of heavy duty use (I even use it as my shop vac) it doesn't look like I'll ever need another one anyways. I had one piece break and when I called Dyson they sent me a free replacement with free shipping even thought the warranty was expired.

QUESTION:
Are vacuum cleaners that use "micro-filters" nearly as good as HEPA filters?
I'm shopping for a new bagless vacuum. I'm not worried about allergies, but I don't want dust flying back out of my vacuum. While one that uses a micro-filtratation may be cheaper than one with a HEPA filter, will it meet my need?-
ANSWER:
Bag less are terrible regardless of the hype. Check out a vacuum cleaner called a Sanitaire....they might have a web siteA cleaner is different that a sweeper. A true cleaner actually lifts the carpet so air can move through it and clean deeper and better. Vacuum sweepers pickup far less. You will be much happier with a bag type.
I have a Dyson and it is awful. Rethink the bag less idea. you will be sorry if yo buy one

QUESTION:

QUESTION:
I want to purchase a new vacuum cleaner. I want to go bagless. What are some good brands?
I essentially am looking for a carpet/floor upright vaccum cleaner. I was looking around in stores and found a lot of choice however. I notieced the following things about various brands.1. Bissell = Seems to be the cheapest and offers more features for it's price but looks kind of flimsy. Is this a good brand. Offers 1 yr warranty.
2. Dirt devel = Cost a little more and looks better. Offers 2 yr warranty?
3. Hoover = I know this is a well known brand but all I was able to see was the steamvacs. My mom had one and it's about 4 yrs old. Its very good still cleans up.
Also I noticed Canaster Vacuum cleaners. What are the advantages of these? What is the purpose of having a canaster? I just don't want to get a habbit of purchasing a vacuum every 1 year because it breaks....
-
ANSWER:
About canister vacs: Canisters are great at cleaning hardwood floors, drapes and hard to reach spots. Most canisters also come with an assortment of tools and attachments for special cleaning jobs. Some may find it awkward because you pull the vacuum from behind. If you don't want to replace your vacuum every year, go with a Dyson. It is the best purchase you will ever make. I spent hours looking in stores for the perfect vacuum and ended up finding just what I needed, the dyson dc15 animal, online (MUCH lower prices and better info) The suction never wears out, so you won't need to replace it. It is great at getting up hair and for people with allergies.

i need a really good vacuum cleaner...help!?
I have 6 cats and need a vacuum cleaner that the filter is not going to stop up every few minutes. I have gone through 3 bagless vacuum cleaners in the last few months but they have been vaccums from walmart like eureka and such. I can vacuum over a small piece of trash in the living room and the vacuum just pushes the trash around, lol. Help!-
ANSWER:
Hi,Don't get the Dyson. My friend has a Dyson and it surface cleans and does not get down deep. I have tried a Dyson before and it feels kind of cheesy and looks like a fisher price toy. I would recommend the Miele S7 instead of the Dyson. It was top-rated by consumer reports in the last issue for being quiet and picking up the best. It has a 12 foot hose which is great for stairs, adjustable suction and it swivels to get around things. It is an awesome machine. My sister has one and I love it. I think it is better than my Sebo. My sister got her Miele Bolero I think it called for 9 on phone special after calling mrvacandmrssew.com. I got my machine on phone special too.

QUESTION:
My Hoover bagless vacuum isn't working...?
It's not but two years old. Took it to a house with really old electrical outlets/wiring system, plugged it in and it ran. Turned it off, tried to turn it back on and it wouldn't turn on again. No electric box switches were tripped/turned off. Also tried it in outlets in all three rooms but it still didn't turn on. Fo vacuum cleaners have fuses the protect the motor? Any thoughts as to what's going on and/or what I can do (besides buy a new one)? Any advice appreciated.-
ANSWER:
Check the machine for a clog somewhere in the system then look for a reset switch. Some vacuums have a thermal switch that cuts out when the motor gets too hot.

QUESTION:
http://www.simplicityvac.com/choosing-a-vacuum/?id=18?
Over the past two years, bagless vacuum cleaners have become more popular in the U.S. compared with the traditional vacuum cleaner. Bagless vacuum manufacturers argue that money is saved because there is no need to purchase bags. Other manufacturers argue differently. One thing is true--bagless technology is not fully understood by most consumers and further explanations are needed.Bagless vacuum systems use a "cyclonic" technology that separates larger dirt and debris from the main air stream and drops these particles into a cup. This cup can then be removed and the dirt dumped into a waste can. The problem with "cyclonic" technology is that only the larger particles of dirt and debris are removed, and the fine dirt exhausts out of the vacuum -- back into the room.
To overcome this problem, all bagless machines require filters to capture smaller particles. While it's true you'll save money not purchasing bags, you will have to pay yearly for replacement filters. Bagless vacuum manufacturers recommend changing filters 1-2 times per year. New filters cost to per filter.
In addition to this expense, bagless owners complain about having to dump the dirt cup (releasing dirt particles back into the air), unclog the cyclonic filter cup, wash the inside filters on some models, and wash the dirt cup itself from time to time. Plus, bagless machines on the market are built like disposable machines.
Demonstrations on bagless machines show that they do an impressive visual job of picking up dirt, and the idea of not buying bags is appealing. That's why sales of bagless machines are rising. On the other hand, a year's supply of vacuum bags (12 bags) costs about , and are simple to remove and throw away. With traditional uprights, there's no issue of washing filters or dirt cups. Many industry experts predict that sales of bagless machines will continue to grow, but also predict that owners will soon see the realities, difficulties and costs of bagless systems and revert to using vacuum bags.-

This is not a question, but spam, or at best, a rant.

QUESTION:
Why would people buy Dyson cleaners?
Why would people buy Dyson cleaners when there are now 'copy cat' products that have also produced bagless vacuum cleaners? Is it because Dysons products are far far better still? Or does Dyson still have so many patents that they cannot copy him 100% and their products still differ?Or is it just brand loyalty e.g. you would still buy Coca Cola even if someone produced another Coke, with exactly the same recipe
Thanks (I am currently researching Engineers for Uni and so your answers all help)
I forgot to also say - why would they still buy dyson products, when the copycat products are almost always cheaper also (but taking into account they may differ as well)-

QUESTION:
Does anyone have (and recommend) the Eureka Capture Pet Plus Bagless vacuum?
Model number is 8863AVZ. I have three long haired cats and a golden retriever, so I have a lot of hair around my house, My current vacuum does not seem to be doing the job. I'm sure the Dyson vacuum for animals is better but it is out of my price range. I am leaning toward this one because it has the dual edge cleaners and because you can turn the brush on and off. Any insight is appreciated!!-
ANSWER:
How much are you looking to spend? Also, how many floors are in your house? If you want a Eureka, and are ok with spending a few extra dollars, try the Eureka 4870 model (HZ, MZ. Doesn't matter, they just represent a color difference). We sell more of that on our site than any other machine, but it is a bit heavier than the 8863. Also, we've done a lot of work on those in our stores, and the way the hoses are configured can create clog issues; it has a wierd wrapping set up on the back. The other thing is to consider what type of carpet you have. Dysons do well (as do other high end vacuums) because they can "deep clean" your carpet, getting hair from places you never even imagined. This deep cleaning is able to be done because 1) the suction is very high and 2) the brushroll not only spins faster, but has better bristles. The 4870 model has more filters on it, so the air flow is better thus creating more suction. We sell it at 9.99, so it is a little more than the avg price for the 8863. If you are looking for a Dyson, and want to spend 9.99, you could buy the DC24 all floors from us. It's very powerful, lightweight and normally 0 new so it's a decent savings. Good luck!

QUESTION:
household vacuum cleaner vs professional clean?
I want to get a vacuum cleaner for my house, and I am considering getting a bagless one. I will use it for carpet and other surfaces. The guys who professionally clean ur carpet use chemicals in their vacuum.
Is it worth getting one of those vacuum cleaners?-
ANSWER:
The wet cleaning machines are good for cleaning up things that won't come out another way, such as vomit, stains, etc. I have a friend who has one of these machines, but she runs a day-care in her home, so she has a lot of these kinds of stains. If you have just normal dirt on your carpet, a vacuum is fine, and you can get your carpet professionally cleaned after some years.

What causes my upright vacuum cleaners to spit hair out while running?
I've had this problem with both a bag vacuum and a bagless, whether the bag or cup is empty or full. Whenever I'm working with the attachments, I find that the vacuum spits out hair onto my previously cleaned floor. I've tried blocking the hole that the attachment hose comes out of, and this makes no difference. The hair seems to come from the bottom of the vacuum. I clean the brush of hair regularly as well. Is there a magic vacuum out there that does not have these kinds of problems? I'm fed up with vacuums that spit hair and start to smell of burning rubber after a few months use.-
ANSWER:
Have you tried cleaning all of the filters on the vacuum/ The hair gets stuck on the brush and the black belt and the belt has a difficult time turning. That's the burning smell you get. Try cleaning or changing your black rubber belt- that'll also help.

QUESTION:
Which Vacuum cleaner should we buy?
We must have had 10 vacuums in the past 5 years. We have been buying bagless upright vacuum cleaners in the -0 range. We run a playgroup from our house so we vacuum alot!! At least 3 times a day. These cheap cleaners just don't last. The loose suction very quickly and eventually just break. So we have decided to invest in a better quality one. Any suggestions of a good quality vacuum cleaner that will last and do a really good job time after time. We don't really care about bag/bagless or upright/canister. We just want something that works well and will last. We are looking in the 0 max price range. So far we have been looking at Dyson, Oreck and Electrolux. Please help!!!!-
ANSWER:
I own a dyson and it is renowned as one of the best vacuums. My uncle has a kirby, the best vacuums available, but heavy, not packed with features, but will last forever which is what you would be paying over 1000 dollars for. The dyson comes pretty customizeable in many different models. And the fact that the dyson never loses suction which is correct. The only thing with the dyson is that if you have a pet there will get a lot of hair stuck around the rotating brush which is the only cleaning you will ever have to do with it. The receptacle is super easy to take out dump and then put back in with only one hand. Just don't be too rough with your dyson i haven't broken any part of mine but it is only made out of plastic.

QUESTION:
best selling vacuum cleaner in US?
bagless upright vacuum cleaners?-
ANSWER:
Best canister vacuum.
The Kenmore Progressive canister vacuum is more expensive than the GE 106766, but it is far less expensive than high-end Miele and Bosch vacuums. Reviews say the Kenmore canister strikes the best balance between performance and price. It has a HEPA filter -- a must-have for allergy sufferers. The 23-pound Kenmore canister also has a full-bag indicator, a manual pile-height adjustment and a retractable cord. The brushroll can be turned off for vacuuming bare floors, and there's an included powered hand tool for stairs and upholstery. Although reviews say Miele and Bosch are quieter and lighter, they clean about equally well.
• Bosch Formula Electro Duo Hepa BSG71360UC
(*est. 0)>> Where to buy
Lightweight canister vacuum.
This Bosch vacuum has a few advantages over the Kenmore Progressive 25615. At only 12 pounds, it weighs almost half as much as the Kenmore and it isn't as noisy. The Bosch's three wheels rotate 360° rather than just rolling forward and backward, so it's easier to move. It also has a rotating brushroll and comes with a bunch of attachments, including a Turbo Brush hand tool. Cleaning performance, however, is about the same as the Kenmore, which costs much less. (*est. 0)
• GE 106766
(*est. 0)>> Where to buy
Budget canister.
Reviews say this basic canister vacuum cleans carpets and bare floors as well as the Hoover and Dyson vacuums. However, the GE lacks extras such as a HEPA filter, a powered hand tool and a pile-height adjustment. Reviews say the GE also loses some suction while cleaning with tools, so it may not be the best choice for upholstery or as a car vacuum. However, if you need a good basic model without the bells and whistles, the GE is an excellent choice.
• Miele S558 Red Velvet
(*est. ,250)>> Where to buy
High-end canister vacuum.
According to reviews, Miele makes the best canister vacuums, and Miele's top-of-the-line mid-size canister vacuum, the Red Velvet, is a favorite in reviews. The Red Velvet has a powerful two-fan motor, fingertip controls and a completely sealed system with HEPA filter, which virtually eliminates exposure to dust. Reviews say the Red Velvet also has an extra-wide powerbrush and five height adjustments. The clear drawback is cost. (*est. ,250)

QUESTION:
Is there any problem not using a bag in a Henry vacuum cleaner?
Help. Being a lazy untidy male who now lives alone as my ex wife threw me out and my mum is dead, I am not used to using hoovers at home but I have got a Henry vacuum cleaner and the seller sold 5 bags with it. But after the first bag got full and I dumped it I found it impossible to find out how to insert one of the new bags being thick about that sort of thing. So as my house was getting a bit grubby I therefore left the bag out and switched on and found it worked brilliantly! I note on another recent Yahoo Answer some said emptying bagless vaccuum cleaners is bad news But when emptying time came around I put a boiler suit on and took it outside and empted it in bin and then had a bath which I needed anyway then carried on using it. So no problem whatsoever. So is there any reason why I need to put a bag in? I mentioned it to somebody at work who thinks that if you use a Henry without a bag it will blow up? Is that true?-
ANSWER:
You need to minimise the amount of dust around the motor for obvious reasons. The bag is awkward to put on, I grant you. Kneel with the nozzle towards you. It helps to loosen the rubber membrane and slightly inflate the paper bag. Using the cardboard handle pull it on to the nozzle until fully home.
Henry bags are available in supermarkets.

QUESTION:
Which vacuum cleaner is the best?
I have a 2 vacuum cleaners, and I HATE them both! One works okay, but the suction on the hand tool sucks (that one is a dirt devil) and the bissell bagless I have, spills dust/dirt everywhere...I have even taken the whole thing apart and it still is dirty and leaves a mess.
I have a baby and a german shepard!
Which vacuum works the best for you? the pick-up?
I also have moved into a new house and it is BIG. SO I need a GOOD vacuum!
Anyone used....Bissell Momentum Cyclonic Upright Vacuum? on target.com it has amazing reviews! everyone loves it~-
ANSWER:
All bagless machines are no good. They will have good suction power, but very low airflow. You need both airflow and suction power for good cleaning. Bagless systems have to draw air through a very long series of tubes and filters, and this lowers the airflow but it increases the sealed suction. My advice would be to at least get a bagged machine. You've probably heard of dyson (they have GREAT advertising) which is a bagless, but they are not a good machine!! Try and stay away from those brands, it will be much better in the long run.
If you have a baby you are probably interested in good filtration. Now, bagless machines and any vacuum from a box store will have poor filtration when comparing them to a high end vacuum cleaner. Miele's for example will bring the air parts per million to ZERO. Most bagless machines will actually raise the airborn particles beacuse even tho they are retaining alot of dirt, they are putting out some dirt in the air and so the particles in the air increases.Riccar, Sebo, Miele, Simplicity and Lindhaus are the BEST vacuums you can get. There are a couple other brands as well, but these are the main ones. Honestly a bissell or a dyson or a hoover or any of those do not compare in quality, filtration, or features. Sure they will pick up good out of the box, but that is not of great value if they don't retain the dirt, don't last longer then 5 years etc...
Here are some models i would recommend. The Riccar Standar, Sebo G1 or X4 or Felix, Or the Miele Callisto.
Good luck!!

I have never tried these two, but the Eureka The Boss smart vac, is the best vacuum on the market for the price. Just like advertised it really is better than the Dyson. I know this doesn't really answer your question but I thought I would through it out there.

QUESTION:
Please advice me that which of these vaccum cleaners I should go for. The VAX VZL-702 or the Dyson DC18?
Can someone please advice me that which of these vaccum cleaners I should go for.The VAX VZL-702 has some special price offers going on at the moment and is available at a price of £50-60 at some online stores:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Vax-VZL-702-Performance-Bagless-Cylinder/dp/B000NNMRNC
http://www.vax.co.uk/shop/cylinder-vacuum-cleaners/Vax-VZL-702-Performance-_Zero-cylinder-vacuum-cleanerThe Dyson DC18 Allergy is the top of the line upright vaccum cleaner from Dyson and is available between £185-269 on the internet:
http://www.great4floors.co.uk/ssl/aspcart/productview.asp?product_id=100871&source=froogle_g4f
http://www.dyson.co.uk/store/product.asp?product=DC18-ALLERGY&sicampaignppc=google&sicampaigntopic=vacuums_uprightsThe problem is that there is a price difefrence of around £100-150 between VAX and DYSON cleaners listed above. And that is where I am having the biggest confusion.
I unserstand that investing in Dyson would be a good choice but do I really need that one. If the VAX VZL-702 does all what I need that why not go for this one and save myself around 100-120 Quid.
I have read the reviews for both of them and both the products have had extremely good reviews.
Any ideas which one to go for??

ANSWER:
Definitely the Dyson. I have the Dyson Animal and it is the BEST vaccum I ever owned. I have three dogs, one cat and two rabbits so I have a challenge when it comes to pet hair. There is not a bad thing about the vaccum. It is so easy to use and the attachments are great.

I bought a Henry when my carpet was new. It is brilliant. You can use it with bags, without bags, or buy a reusable bag from Amazon. Sucks up most things (dry) and good on pet hairs.

QUESTION:
What do I have to do, where do I have to go, to find a good vacuum cleaner?
For no more than 0?I have burned through 3 vacuum cleaners in 2 and a half years, 1 bissell and 2 hoovers (the last hoover only lasted 6 months), each one cost me over 0. Why is the quality of vacuum cleaners so poor these days? They're all made of cheap plastic and substandard parts, and the bagless wind tunnel/cyclone system is so complicated, with filters, screens, and attachments that take a rocket scientist to figure out and maintain that it's driving me bananas.
I'm a pretty tech savvy, mechanically inclined guy. But my wife is not, and if an 8 year old can't figure it out, for the money, I don't want it. I'm sick of all the "tunnels" and "cyclones", and stupid plastic fairings and receptacles to empty (after each use, no less -- can I go a couple of days without having to take the whole thing apart to dump the dag thing?). When I was a kid, we had a self-propelled hoover bag-upright that lasted my entire childhood, and an electrolux canister vac that lasted my mom's entire child hood AND mine. WTH? Going back to bags can't be too bad at this point.
Is there a vacuum that I will not have to take a second mortage out on my house to buy, that can last at least 3 years?
What about Oreck? Are they any good? I've heard lots on both sides. What about electrolux?
Please, I'm at my wit's end, and suddenly fresh out of bananas. Thank you kindly, in advance.

QUESTION:
Dyson vacuums - are there any alternatives?
Hi there,I know that a lot of bagless vacuums are sold as "Cyclonic", but I remember hearing somewhere that only Dysons actually remove all the dirt from the air by cyclonic action, whilst the rest also rely on filters.
Is it true that other companies can not (due to patents, etc.) make vacuum cleaners that work in exactly the same way as a dyson, or is it just an urban myth created by clever marketing on the part of dyson?
If anyone (in the UK) has a vacuum they think is comparable to a dyson, I'd love to hear about it, cheers.

ANSWER:
I have the Eureka Boss SmartVac and I love it! It does a great job. I have kids, pets, and a husband who works construction, and it gets up all their dirt/dust/hair/etc... The suction is great and it has a switch to turn the beater bar off so you can use it on any hard floor surface. It's not bagless, but I had a bagless before, and I would never have another one again. It's very reasonably priced and I can't see how a Dyson could outclean it. Hope this helps. Good luck!

QUESTION:
anyone having a hard time getting their spouse a gift?
i have come up with several gift ideas for my husband. i wanted to get him a new digital camera cause ours is old and doesn't work well. well, sure enough it broke and he went out to buy a camera. he also loves vacuum cleaners....yes you read that right....my man loves to clean. of course i don't complain. so i thought i would get him a really nice expensive vacuum. well, every time we go to shop for the kids he goes to look at the vacuums!!! he almost bought one yesterday but i told him that bagless vacuums suck so he said he would go back and look next week. a few weeks ago he mentioned he wanted a game system....so i went to the store, priced the playstation 3 and planned on getting it soon. well, he came home with the playstation 2 and yet again my plans are ruined. does anyone else have this problem? what do i do and how do i stop him from buying things without giving my surprise away? any ideas on other things i can get him? thanks!!-
ANSWER:
YES! He always gets what he wants (even though he sometimes does have buyer's remorse). I am trying to think of things for him, but it's mostly been like you - replacing stuff with newer things.
He's very techie, so I am thinking of a Fry's Electronics GC. But GC's seem so "I didn't know what to get you so all I got was this lousy GC!"Good luck! I would listen to him talk and get something maybe he talks about in passing that he hasn't treated himself to yet.

http://www.hoover.co.uk/products/1/vacuum-cleaners/3/bagless-upright/2/dust-manager/17/dust-manager/When I am hoovering, it seems to be depositing the dust and crap back out. The carpet ends up worse then it originally was! The band defiantly hasn't broken as the brush is still spinning. Its past its warranty (conveniently lol)

ANSWER:
It is typical in vacuums of this design to clog in the transition neck between the floorhead and the upright bag compartment. Most often it is where the hose is inserted into the back of the floorhead or where it turns and enters the collection compartment, though with this particular style of hose the clog can happen anywhere along it's length.Further tests you can do:
1 - Pull the hose free of the floorhead. Is there suction through the hose? If yes, the clog is at the floorhead/vertical transition. If no, the clog is in the hose or upper transition.
2 - Make sure the dust container is properly closed and seated on the machine, if there is a leak, it will affect suction.
3 - Check the filters and wash or replace them as per the manufacturer's recommendation if they are dirty.
4 - Refer to your owners manual for further suggestions and cures. If after all these checks you're still having an issue or you need a new copy of the owners manual, you may want to contact Hoover directly. This site has manufacturer contact information.

QUESTION:
I'm thinking of Buying a Bissell Pro Heat 2 Upright Steam Cleaner, do I need to also have a regular Vacuum?
Do I need to Vacuum up pet hair, etc before I use one of these Bissell Upright Steam Cleaners. I was going to purchase a new Bagless Bissell Pet Hair removal vacuum and the aile over I saw the Bissell Pro Heat cleaners for like 100 bucks more. Can I just get rid of my vacuum and use this steam cleaner instead or do you still need to vacuum before you clean. Or can I use steam cleaners without the water now and then just like a vacuum?-
ANSWER:
You have to have both.
Steam cleaners aren't designed to be vacuum cleaners. (I haven't heard of a dual purpose one yet.) You need a vacuum cleaner for weekly general cleaning in between steaming and you use the steam cleaner for cleaning every couple months or if have a particularly tough stain in carpet or a large house party to clean up after.
Or just buy the vacuum cleaner and rent a steamer when you need it. Or hire Stanley Steamer to steam clean for you.
The only people who really need to own a steamer and use it frequently are those with white/light carpets and lots of foot traffic and pets.
